School-Based Program (5-12 years)
The school-based program at Chris Rose Therapy Centre supports children aged 5-12 with Autism Spectrum Disorder, focusing on their strengths and community integration. Each child receives an individualized plan, developed in partnership with families and home schools. The program does not include academics, which are managed by the home school. Children attend 1-5 days per week, depending on family and school agreements. The program uses various therapies, excluding ABA, such as music therapy, speech therapy, and life skills training. Enrollment requires coordination with the home school, and a close liaison is maintained between the program and the child’s school.
Extended Program (6-18 years)
This community-based program supports children aged 6 to 18 eligible for Autism Funding, offering goal-oriented intervention outside their educational setting. Tailored to each child’s strengths and needs, children work one-on-one with staff for 1-2 hours weekly. It runs from September to June in Kamloops.
Summer Program (5 – 18 years)
This recreational program for children with ASD (ages 5-18) who have a worker with the local CYSN office. We offer activities like hiking, swimming, and crafts. It runs four days a week for seven weeks, addressing language, social, and behavioral issues. Autism Funding can be used for eligible children. Registration opens on Friday, April 11, at 9:00 AM. Parents / legal guardians can register for camp by telephone (250-376-6494) or in person at 1111 Tranquille Road.
