All spots in the 2024 Summer Program Day Camp are full at this time, but there is still room on the wait list.
This is a recreational based program for children with ASD who have a social worker with the Kamloops CYSN office. The program is offered to children 5 to 18 years of age. Each week, small groups will be determined based on child’s age, common goal areas and required staffing ratio. The staff is experienced in working with children with ASD.
Language, social, sensory and behavioural issues will be considered when developing the program. Activities include hiking, swimming, day trips, crafts, and cooking. Language and behavioural issues are addressed.
The summer program will operate from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., four days a week for seven weeks beginning the week of July 8 and ending the week of August 19. The cost of the Summer Program is $425.00 per week. If eligible, Autism Funding can be used for this camp for children six years of age and up.
Once enrollment opens, it is on a first-come / first-serve basis. We are unable to sign children up prior to the official registration date. Due to the limited number of spots and high demand, each child can attend a maximum of three weeks. When registering you must give your top three weeks.
Registration opens at 9:30 AM PST on Thursday, April 11. Parents / legal guardians can register for camp by telephone (250-376-6494) or in person at 1111 Tranquille Road. For those registering in person, please keep in mind that our therapy programs begin each morning at 8:30 AM which means that parents will be dropping their children off at that time, so please respect that.
